Between December 2011 and February 2012 Samsung introduced several printers and MFPs based on the same print engine, in differing geographic markets. Of them, the ML-2160/2165/2168 printers, SCX-3400/3405 MFPs and SF-706/SF706P fax-based MFPs all have the same OEM-rated print speeds – 20 pages per minute (ppm) for A4-size prints and 21 ppm for letter-size prints. Duty cycles for all are 10,000 pages per month with the exception of the SCX-2405, which was rated at 20,000 pages per month.
All models noted above ship with 700 page yield starter cartridges. Replacement cartridges are available in 1,500 page yield versions only. All toner cartridges require chips for the printers to function correctly.
